Services

At Snoqualmie Valley Animal Hospital, we understand how important your pet is to you. We understand that your pet is your companion, friend and confidant, and it shows in the care we provide. Most importantly, we do everything with a smile and a friendly face. We want you and your pet to feel as comfortable in our home as you do in yours. To provide the best possible care, we created a fully functioning hospital with the following services:

Health Examinations

The best way to treat medical problems is to prevent them. We recommend scheduling yearly health examinations for your pet along with regular vaccinations and biannual screenings for intestinal worms and external parasites. Regular preventative care significantly reduces the chance of harmful, costly, and potentially painful conditions.

Diagnosis

SVAH has the expertise and technological capability to properly assess your pet's condition and, in doing so, provide the appropriate treatment. Our in-house labs enable us to perform routine diagnostics instantly.

Anesthesia

Our pets are members of our families. At SVAH we do not consider any anesthetic procedure 'routine'. Anesthesia is performed using drugs and monitoring equipment very similar to those used on people undergoing surgery. We use a combination of injectable and inhalant (isoflurane) anesthetics. Anesthetic protocols vary with breed, age, and health problems and are tailored to provide the safest procedure possible.

Surgery

Our surgery suite uses Nonin pulse oximetry blood oxygenation monitors, Bair Hugger and Gaymar Heat Pump warming blankets, positive pressure suction, esophageal stethoscopes, heat cautery, esophageal thermometers and EKG monitoring. During surgery a nurse monitors anesthesia and all vital parameters. After surgery all patients have a nurse with them in the recovery room until they are extubated and waking.

Dentistry

Proper dental care will help prevent your pet from losing teeth, developing bad breath, or more importantly, heart and kidney trouble. We offer cleanings, orthodontic procedures, tooth polishing, and fluoride treatments. Periodontal implants are used whenever possible to save teeth from extraction. We can also recommend special diets to help control gum disease and other dental problems.

Geriatric Care

As we age regular exams and medical testing help to keep us healthy. The same is true of our pets. We recommend blood and urine testing every two years for pets over five years and annually for pets over 8 years of age. This establishes a baseline for comparing illness values and serves as an essential tool in disease screening. We also recommend that all geriatric animals receive intravenous fluid support during any anesthetic procedures.

Housecalls

You will often hear us recommending Dr. Mike Treuting. Originally a Louisiana boy, "Dr. Mike" hails from Preston now, and runs a house call practice for small animals. He's an incredibly nice guy, a fantastic veterinarian, and if you're really nice to him, he cooks some amazing Cajun! He can be reached through Treuting Veterinary House Calls at 425.766.8333.
